Updated AIA Rankings/Tuesday, Oct. 23

Post by 3A Statz » Tue Oct 24, 2017 10:10 am

Ganado still holds the No. 17 spot in the rankings as runner-up in the North Region, and Wickenburg moved up to No. 20 as runner-up in the West Region -- conceivably knocking No. 15 Winslow and No. 16 Safford out of the state playoffs. However, both Winslow and Safford are underdogs in Week 10 and could drop out of the Top 16 -- moving Ganado into the final Top 16. So Wickenburg, not likely to jump 4 slots, will probably eliminate the lowest-seeded non-runner-up (No. 13 Empire?) out of the playoffs.
One more week of regular season action to go ... and Nos. 11, 12, 13, 15 and 16 could all lose this week.
