3A Quarterfinals Player of the Week/Stat Leaders

Post by 3A Statz » Sat Nov 18, 2017 10:58 am

This is a little late due to an unusually busy week, but on the day of the semifinals, let's review who were the top players in the 3A quarterfinals last week. In probably the most dramatic game in the quarters, American Leadership Academy's Bujon Boyd earned 3A Player of the Week honors. Although the fourth-leading pass receiver in 3A for the season only caught 2 passes for 30 yards against Yuma Catholic, he had two interceptions as defensive back -- including the game-clincher -- in the 28-21 victory against the Shamrocks.
The other candidates for the honor were ALA's Tanner McLachlan with a pivotal 62-yard punt return for a touchdown in that same game, Ben Franklin's Chandler Miles with 112 yards rushing and 60 yards receiving for 5 touchdowns, and the Ben Franklin defense with its five quarterback sacks in its 35-31 triumph over Sabino.
